We turned on the heat and in 2.5 hours it increased to 57 degrees. Once back at the room the temperature in the room was 55 degrees. I am not the first person who has had this happen to them, nor will I be the last. Having worked at a front desk of a resort for 5 years I understand needing an ID to be able to give out new keys, however, there is never an issue deactivating them, because if I wasn’t supposed to be in the room I would have to show ID to gain access to the room and if it was my room security would escort at that point to verify I was who I say I am. I verified that I had a service dog, his name, breed and particular training, among other information (that had been stolen so anyone would have verified) to prove I was the person who’s belongings were in the room. I was met with nothing but push back, attitude and the run around from the front desk agent.
All I was asking them to do was to not allow any keys that were currently made for the room to be active. I was told because I needed an ID (which was stolen as well) they wouldn’t do anything. When we called the hotel to alert them and ask them to deactivate the keys they refused to do so. While out to dinner a bag was stolen that contained our room keys, with the name of the hotel and room number written on them.
We checked in for one night for a business trip.
